Mr. T.M. Issac, was a freedom fighter of the first rank who did not leave any stone unturned. He was the undaunted organizer of the state congress of north Travencore. In utter disregard of personal comforts and health, Mr. Issac dedicated himself to the cause of the freedom struggle. The strenuous and relentless pursuit of active field work involving frequent travels, meetings and speeches told upon his health. All these combined with arrests and detentions in police lock-ups in inhuman conditions, developed a wasting disease which culminated in acute T.B. and his death came in 1947 at the age of thirty two. The sad memory of Mr. T.M. Issac, burst from the hearts of many thousands, forced Varkey sir to seek election as a candidate from Kunnathunadu constituency and he was returned uncontested to the state legislature. He was a Member of the State Legislative Assembly from 1948 to 1952.
